Details

The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and Innovate UK are to invest up to £24 million to enable industry-led research trials and development of innovative vehicles or on-vehicle technology. These need to provide real-world emissions reductions. This is for the freight, logistics, utilities and emergency industries.

This competition is in 2 streams.

Stream 1 will fund projects to trial vehicles and on-vehicle technology in the real world. It will support small trial fleets of low emission vehicles (HGVs and vans) and their refuelling / charging infrastructure. The aim is to collect research data and test the benefits of the technology before fleet-wide adoption.

We expect these projects to range in size from total costs of £500,000 to £5 million. Projects should last between 18 months and 2 years, with vehicle trials of at least one year.

Stream 2 will fund projects to develop or trial innovative and disruptive on-vehicle technology, systems or business models. These must reduce emissions in the real world.

We expect these projects to range in size from total costs of £250,000 to £5 million. Projects should last no more than one year.

Projects must be collaborative and a business must lead the project.

The competition opens on 11 July 2016.

You must register before noon on 12 October 2016.
